The Sound

orn

The sound of precious Christmas ornaments falling off a tree…

I know that sound anywhere!  I hear it all the time.  Luckily I have strategically placed Christmas ornaments so that we have not had any break this past holiday season.  I still have the dining room decorated for the holidays because I have been busy at work and I just love my tree!

This morning as I was working I heard the sound of an ornament hit the floor and roll.  Even though I am upstairs I know that it is due to Bailey running through the dining room like a crazy person just so she can bark out the window.  I also know it is a round blue ornament with white stars.  It has fallen off a few times this year.  Bailey seems to prefer it on the ground!

I yelled down the steps “there had better not be a Christmas tree ornament on the floor.”  A few hours later I went downstairs and the ornament is not on the ground.  The Christmas hook was on the ground, but the ornament is missing!  Now here comes the “crazy dog mom” in me.  I asked Bailey if she knew where the ornament was.  She sat down and apparently has no idea where the ornament has gone.  I then walked around the house asking her to show me where the ornament is stashed.  She stayed in the kitchen…

I have searched this house over and over again.  I can’t find the ornament.  I has to be in one piece, but where she has hidden it I have no idea.  I love Rufus and Riley, but neither of them are very good at hiding things so I know they had nothing to do with it.  Riley tends to give me his things to hide for him and Rufus digs very shallow holes to hide his goodies.  When I say shallow I mean he picks up one blade of grass and covers his bone!

I will find that ornament, but knowing how smart this dog is it could be anywhere…
