In Hindsight

In hindsight it was probably not the best idea to hide Rufus’ stockpile of treats in my office drawer.  He has found the treats and now waits until I am on a work call to cry at the drawer.  Initially I was forced to give in and hand over a treat because no one could hear me on the other line.  Now he has figured out that he does not need me to open the drawer.  He can do it himself!  Rufus simply grabs the handle with his mouth and wiggles himself back until the drawer is accessible.

Needless to say the treats have been moved to higher ground in another room…I am telling you I don’t feed this dog as much as everyone thinks.  His weight gain is due to his lack of leaving the couch and possibly serving himself treats! Now I am wondering how many times he has helped himself??!!

We are ready for the “big storm!”  Riley helped take the remaining Christmas lights down.  Rufus barked from the dining room window the entire time.  I feel bad for Bailey that she has to live with these knuckleheads! Riley is the only four legged that can be out front because he isn’t a runner.  Knowing that Rufus is jealous just adds to Riley’s front yard freedom!  As Rufus howls Riley zips back and forth and then rolls on his back and scoots through the yard.  Thankfully there is no dog poop in the front yard!

Stay warm and safe!
