I love a fresh Christmas tree! Unfortunately if we put one in the house I can’t breathe after the second day. In years past I have put a fresh tree on the porch and decorated with shatter proof ornaments. Last year Rufus and Bailey were still adjusting to “life with humans” so I opted to skip the tree. Most of the flowers and plants on the porch “died” within minutes of their arrival earlier that summer.
I have been debating if I should put the fresh tree up this year. Yesterday it was sunny and “Pittsburgh warm” for December that I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring home the tree. Normally I am wrestling with the tree in the driveway, in the dark, in the cold! I hopped in the truck and headed to my local Greenhouse to find the perfect tree.
Walking through the Christmas tree lot was so peaceful. Trees, wreathes, and decorations put me into the Christmas spirit! My house is just always loud! I found the perfect tree and unlike Clark Griswold allowed the professionals to cut it down, tie it, and place it in the back of the truck. The tree is about 6 feet tall and smells like Christmas! She is sucking up water and after she has settled (yes…Riley has decided the tree is a girl!) we will decorate.
Now I just have to convince Rufus not to pee on her…
