Meals on Wheels

MealsonWheels

I work from home which would make you think I know everything that is happening on the cul de sac, but I actually miss a lot.  My office window faces a neighbor’s house not the front of the street so unless I happen to be downstairs refilling my coffee cup I miss ambulances, neighbors, police cars, & stray cats.  The Four Legged keep a good eye on the street and yesterday morning I knew something was wrong.  All three dogs were going berserk.  I went down to the kitchen to look out and saw a Meals on Wheels volunteer banging on our neighbor’s door.  She is elderly so I went outside because if she was not answering I was worried something might be wrong.

I ended up calling her sister when she didn’t answer and it turned out she was in the hospital.  The Meals on Wheels Driver headed to his next stop, but not before Rufus tried to explain that the meal for Marie really should be left in his care!  The driver was a dog lover and was almost convinced that he should just leave the meal even though our County doesn’t allow that!  Rufus’ head was in the bag trying to seeing what was on the menu for the day.  All this time meals were being delivered down the street and Rufus had no idea…
