But I Love Pickles! In a week where we have absolutely zero downtime I have decided to make pickles for the first time. Our neighbors gave us really cool Chinese Cucumbers and a friend of ours gave us regular cucumbers. I really don’t like cucumbers at all, but I don’t want to see anything go to waste so here we go!
I went online and found a “quick refrigerator pickle recipe.” If it works it was so easy and quick. All you had to do was dissolve sugar and salt into vinegar and water over medium heat on the stove. Once it cooled you placed the mixture over the sliced cucumbers. I added garlic and dill. Supposedly after a week in the fridge we will have pickles. If this works I will be thrilled as I can’t keep pickles longer than a week in this house. Everyone eats them with everything!
Bailey was in the kitchen helping with this project and was not thrilled to hear that you have to wait a week to enjoy!
