Since the Big Dogs have joined the house we receive mail on average about 4 days out of the week. The original mailbox is next to the porch and if the dogs are outside they can reach out and “hug” our mailman. Our mailman is Riley’s best friend, but she is a little nervous around the big dogs. I told her that if the big dogs are out you can just skip our mail delivery. Unfortunately it seems like we are missing a lot of days.
I sprayed a strip of grass that runs along the driveway with grass killer and have slowly been digging out the area to install the new mailbox and a few plants. Initially I was not thrilled about moving the mailbox because it is convenient in the bad weather to just reach out the door and grab the mail. After some thought I realized I could add more Christmas lights by installing a mailbox at the driveway!
I came home today and my dad installed the new mailbox! Now I have to get in gear with the plants and mulch before the weeds overtake my strip. Riley is not sure how he feels about the new mailbox. Our mailman leaves him a treat everyday and there is concern she might not realize this is his new mailbox. Riley intends to sit out front Monday waiting for her…
