The Yard Sale

As if this house was not crazy enough I host a Yard Sale every few months to raise money for a local Troop Support charity.  Normally we just borrow tables from one of our local businesses and set-up in the front yard.  At the last sale Rufus did not care for all of the shoppers and voiced his displeasure from about 6am to 2pm.  He spent most of the day ramming the door and howling.  Rufus does not have the ability to understand that if I am in the front yard it is okay to let other people in the front yard.  I have never met a dog that can bark and howl for hours on end.  Needless to say our neighbors were not thrilled with us by the end of the day!

Rufus has made a lot of progress in the past 10 months so I decided we needed to move the yard sale off-site as not to stress him out for the day.  Everyone should be thanking Rufus for his ridiculous behavior because at 6am yesterday morning there was half an inch of snow in the front yard and it was still coming down!  Normally we would be freezing and I would be grumpy.  Instead I simply woke up, grabbed a cup of coffee, kissed the Four Legged goodbye and headed down the street to the nice warm church!

The Yard Sale was a huge success and none of our volunteers had frost bite!  Riley is usually the official greeter at the Yard Sale so he was not thrilled with the move to a church, but he spent the day with his Big Ed and enjoyed a few hot dogs as the church cooked lunch for the Shoppers!   Where there is a Will, There is a Way!
