Neither Bailey or Rufus had ever walked on a leash prior to their adoption. Bailey was like a firecracker when you tried to walk her. Rufus was tough, but I could at least handle him. Within days of bringing Bailey home I stopped by our local dog shop and had Bailey fitted with a harness. Walking her became a breeze and I was no longer pulling on her neck. Natalie (aka the Dog Whisperer) could walk either dog without issue, but if the mailman was around we were in trouble!
Every once in a while Rufus would borrow Bailey’s harness to walk. If you need to go down a hill it is really hard to hold onto him. He is incredibly powerful. Have you ever seen a dog with a six pack? I swear he must lift weights when I am not home!
I stopped by the Dog Shop this week and Rufus is the proud owner of his own Harness! It is a little big on him, but it is amazing how much easier it is to walk him. This weekend he has split is time between cuddling on the couch and walking around the neighborhood! As he walks down the hill he bellows to let everyone know he is out and about!
