Spring Forward and Now What?

On Sunday we celebrated “Spring Forward” and it has been a let down for Rufus ever since!  Spring Forward is not like his other favorite Holidays.  Rufus was thrilled to “spring” out of bed on Sunday.  He ran onto the porch to be greeted with 25 degree temperatures.  He looked at me like “This is It?” The sun can be so deceiving! He is back on the couch with his mail and does not plan to return outside until it is at least 40 degrees!

I had new internet and tv service installed this week.  Bailey and Riley were able to “help” both companies install our new services, but Rufus had to hang out in the bedroom.  Both technicians said they loved dogs, but as one of them was climbing to the roof I thought Rufus was going to break the bedroom window so I decided it was just safer for everyone if Rufus stayed inside.  He does not have the ability to understand that it is okay for someone to be in the house.  He protects the house and it takes a lot of convincing for him to go from “guard dog” to “lap dog.” Even though he had his bowl of water, plenty of toys, his favorite bones, and the TV on he spent both days howling and ramming the bedroom door for hours.  So far “Spring Forward” has been a let down and he is still strongly considering moving to Florida as he heard they are doing away with tradition!

Bailey and Riley are loving the extra daylight.  We no longer have to rush to walk by 4pm.  Even though snow flurries are flying today the sun is peaking through.  Spring is coming!  We just need the wind to chill out so that we can decorate the trees for Easter. This won’t be the first year that our decorations will be snowed on, but I really don’t want to have Bailey chasing our decorations down the block…
