Four in the afternoon and everyone is in bed. Wonder why? Oh…because everyone was up at 6am due to Miss Bailey and her growling! To me one of the worst ways to wake up is hearing a dog growl from another room. My first thought is always “someone is breaking in.” Rufus is now holding me down and staring into the hallway. I have seconds to decide a plan. Bailey’s growling is getting worse. Oh goodness! I push Rufus aside (not an easy endeavor) and quietly get out of bed, slide on shoes and slowly peek my head around the corner. Riley is using Rufus as a shield just in case things go south…he realizes this is not a drill.
Bailey is in “kill mode” in the family room. Intruder?? Yes, but it has 4 legs! There is a stray cat sitting on the outside ledge of the family room window. As my breathing returns to normal I tap on the window encouraging the cat to get down. Bailey is pacing and the rest of the morning was spent keeping an eye on that window!
Riley and Rufus are not early risers so all of the “fun” from this morning has resulted in afternoon naps! Just another exciting Monday with the Four Legged!
