Yesterday was the last evening we enjoyed our outdoor Christmas decorations. Most of the lights are frozen in the ground, but I unplugged the timers this morning. It is so dark & dreary now. Looking forward to the heat wave (40 degrees) so that I can get everything put in the shed. This is the first year I have left the outdoor decorations up for “Little Christmas” in years. 3 years ago the decorations were up when pneumonia struck and because I was in the hospital for an extended period and then on oxygen some of the decorations were damaged so for the next several years I took everything down right away. This year I took the risk and no pneumonia, but everything is frozen. (It was worth it!)
I always leave the indoor Christmas decorations up until after “Little Christmas.” If I would have taken them down yesterday instead of procrastinating we would have made it the entire holiday season without any major casualties! This morning the big dogs were wrestling and my snowman lamp is now in the garbage can… As you can see from their photo they were just sitting there and all of the sudden the snowman lamp exploded. Thinking I will get my butt in gear and get the rest of the fragile decorations put safely away!
