It is the coldest day of the year! Given it is only the 2nd day of the year, but the Four Legged are stuck inside again. No walks today and it is barely warm enough for them to run outside to piddle. Occupying the three of them while trying to work from home and keep my sanity can be tasking. Bailey spent the better part of the morning looking through Christmas bows. I have no idea what she is planning on wrapping, but apparently she needed a bow!
I decided it might be time to clean up the office before she unwrapped the wrapping paper…I will keep the Christmas Decorations up until “Little Christmas” but I did put away our Christmas gifts and hung the 2018 calendars. I will spend the next several weeks writing the year as 2017 even with the new calendars to remind me!
On days like this I love to have something warm for dinner so we are making Chili and Cornbread. I didn’t make any cornbread at Christmas and have been craving it. I love to add a little chopped dill to the batter before baking. The dill adds a freshness to the dense bread. Riley and Rufus are in the kitchen keeping an eye on the chili pot while it simmers. Neither of them has missed a meal, but they don’t seem to trust me to call them for dinner! Is it almost bedtime?
Stay warm out there!
