Christmas Eve was a Success! Christmas Day was a little rough because Rufus decided to mark the Christmas Tree as his own, but we’ll just replace the tree and pretend that didn’t happen…
Riley, Bailey, and Rufus loved Christmas Dinner at Grammie and Big Ed’s house! Rufus especially loves eating at their house because he is taller than their table and Big Ed tends to slip him food when I am not watching.
After a walk to check out Christmas lights we gathered around the Christmas tree to open presents. They lasted about 30 minutes and then took “power naps.” Riley spent most of the evening cuddling with his Aunt Jackie and then stole Big Ed’s chair! It is tough to watch my little man age. Riley is now 10 and even though he has some wild moments he is becoming “a little Papa.”
Rufus was all cuddled up on the couch trying to show Uncle Eddie what a good dog he can be when I opened an awesome red ball that barks and lights up! Rufus’ face was priceless when we gave it to him. He was like “who did this?” Riley thinks the ball is hilarious, especially since it annoys Rufus!
I bought Kongs for all of the dogs because the trainer said that it would be good for Rufus to use brain power to help with his anxiety. Dogs use up more energy when they use their brain than when going for a walk. Who knew? Well I have news for the trainer….Rufus isn’t going to work for his food and neither is Riley! The boys played with the Kong for about 1 minute and then decided to go find someone to give them a bone! Bailey Loves the Kongs and has claimed all 3. She has brought the Kong to me several times to put bones in it and then she is off and running! My girl is so smart!
After a few more Christmas cookies we loaded the truck and headed home just before the snow started to fall! Another amazing Christmas Eve in the books!
