Snowballs with Riley

I came home from a long day out yesterday and the babies were quick to “tell” me that Aunt Heather had left a goodie bag near the front door.  They insisted that we open it before dinner and discovered 3 pig ears!  With the snow storm approaching and a drop in temperatures Aunt Heather could not have picked a better day for a surprise!  No one even seemed to notice that we skipped our walk last night…

This morning we woke up to 3 inches of fresh snow.  Riley played outside throughout the morning and loves to have snowballs (lightly packed) thrown at him.  He tries to catch the snowball and runs in circles looking for more.  I wouldn’t recommend throwing a snowball at Rufus…

It didn’t take Riley long to wear out and has spent the rest of the day lounging on the couch with his big brother who has decided he would like to buy a “winter home” in Florida near his cousin Keith!  It is Day 2 of winter temperatures and he is over it!

Bailey and I just got home from our evening Christmas Light walk.  We like to pick a different street each night and have self-appointed ourselves the “neighborhood lighting judges.”  Kudos to the homeowners that decorate their roof! We are loving the Holiday Spirit!

My girlie girl is now also cuddled on the couch with her brothers.  It is hard to imagine Rufus and Bailey stuck outside in these temperatures.  Their paperwork from the rescue said that they were “outdoor dogs.”  I don’t know why their owner gave them up, but I am glad he did.  These two are right where they need to be!  (I need to remind myself that when I am melting down because they are acting like a bunch of nutballs!)
