Bailey is not sure if everyone is aware, but there is a tree in the dining room and she is concerned that she is the only one concerned! As she cuts through the dining room she stops and checks the tree for changes!
I started the “Christmas Tree Process” by placing the tree bag in the dining room so that everyone could get use to it. Rufus was fine with the tree as you can see from the photos, he is using it to give him height to bark out the window! Rufus and Riley were less pleased when I moved the dining room table. This is a crew that does not like change so I wanted to change the room slowly. Rufus is struggling with some anxiety issues and I am working with our vet and the shelter to make things as stress-free as possible. Changing an entire room could cause him to panic, but Riley was there to assure him that this was for Santa and to hang in there. Riley has the biggest heart and Rufus turns to him for “clarification” a lot!
As the day went on I put up the tree, decorated the dining room, and moved furniture around. By not making any sudden drastic changes Rufus seems to be fine with the Christmas decorations. Today we will hang the lights and then start working on the ornaments. Riley loves holidays and is “Santa’s little helper.” He must have gone up and done the steps about 50 times yesterday to help me pull supplies. Since Rufus never left his side and Riley never left my side it was interesting trying to do the steps! Life with Three…
